Debbie Finney 28 years of work experience in the private sector to the SBDC where she now consults with Georgia businesses in the areas of marketing strategies, branding, social media marketing, digital marketing strategies, strategic planning and business management. She has instructed business owners throughout the state on marketing and digital marketing strategy and has presented her program, “Branding – Smart Move for Small Business” nationally.
She started her business career in retail family business, and later opened a second retail business.During her many years in retail, she developed a marketing expertise and strategy that distinguished her two businesses in the market place as the local industry expert. Prior to joining the SBDC, Debbie worked in medical practice management where she was instrumental in opening and managing two medical offices in the Greater Atlanta area. She also has experience in hospital based medical practice management and marketing medical practices. Debbie Finney has also been an instructor of Marketing, Labor Relations, and other business classes at Darton State College.
She holds an MBA, University of Georgia and a BBA, Emory University.
David D. Dunn

David Dunn has been a business consultant with the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center for over 25 years. He has a BBA in accounting from Valdosta State College and an MBA from Albany State College. Prior to joining the University of Georgia, David worked fourteen years in the manufacturing sector with the Firestone Tire Company in the areas of production, quality control, and management.
David has consulted one-on-one with literally thousands of companies in all aspects of business. He teaches practical application seminars for businesses and has made national presentations to the National Main Street Association, the National Entrepreneurship Education Forum, and the Association of Small Business Development Centers. He is also a former instructor for Georgia Southwestern University, and an adjunct instructor for Moultrie Technical College.
David has published numerous articles in various newspapers, as well as in Georgia Trend’s Small Business Guide and other publications. He is also a former weekly business columnist for the Tifton Gazette.
In 2006, David was presented “The Extra Mile Award” by the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and also the National Association of Small Business Development Center’s “Distinguished Service Award” for his work with entrepreneurs on the Gulf Coast immediately after the Hurricane Katrina disaster. He was presented the 2011 Georgia SBDC Network’s prestigious Consultant of the Year Award and was also named by the Association of Small Business Development Centers as the 2012 Georgia State Star. David is designated as one of the Georgia SBDC’s three agriculture specialists.

Heather Sharpe serves as a Business Consultant for the University Of Georgia Small Business Development Center in Albany, Georgia. She attended Darton College before going on to earn a B.A in Communication Studies from Clemson University and a M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communication from Florida State University. Prior to joining the SBDC, Heather served in the Marketing Department at Albany Mall where she coordinated special events and social media, as well as worked with merchants to grow their businesses. She has also served as a Program Director at the Albany Area YMCA, where she developed and managed both seasonal and year-round programs.
Heather is a member of the Junior League of Albany, GA., Inc., where she is currently serving as the President on the Board of Directors. Her interests include marketing and public relations, customer service, event planning and management, and organizational development.
