The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (UGA SBDC) Digital Marketing Boot Camp is designed specifically for small business owners who want to learn how to integrate technology and marketing in the digital space to increase profits and gain customers.

For just $49, you get a full day of interactive sessions and networking lunch. UGA SBDC digital marketing experts from around the state will show you how to:

  • Use social media to cultivate brand ambassadors
  • Learn to develop a successful digital marketing strategy for your business
  • Tap into the mobile marketplace
  • Understand and navigate the world of paid online advertising
  • Use photos and video to promote your products and educate your customers

  • Everybody is using Pinterest, Instagram and videos to share trends and products online, but do you know how to get your company working efficiently using these tools?   • Nine out ten Americans own a mobile phone. Worldwide there are 7 billion mobile subscribers. Consumers use multiple mobile devices to making buying decisions and manage their daily lives. Successful businesses are connecting with customers wherever they are – at work, home, or on the go. During this session learn how to develop effective mobile strategies to connect and engage customers, to build customer loyalty for your business, and to increase profits. Learn how powerful tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Blogs influence your customer. Discussion includes why mobile changes the way we do business and best practices to reach customers with real time location based marketing.

With more than eighteen years’ experience within the UGA SBDC, his consulting expertise in strategic marketing, financial packaging, and overall business management has impacted thousands of business owners. His background includes service as President and CEO of a local Chamber of Commerce, as well as, experience in retail, manufacturing, and service environments. Drew is also a certified instructor for Google, eBay University, and GrowSmart. Mr. Tonsmeire was one of the recipients for the Project of the Year Award for 2011 for his team contributions in the Google training and consulting initiative. Drew was also recognized as the 2004 Consultant of the Year by the Georgia SBDC Network. He serves on the national America’s SBDC annual conference, which brings 1500 SBDC professionals from across the U.S. for advanced training. He holds an M.B.A., Georgia State University and a B.B.A., University of Georgia.

Joining the UGA SBDC in 2006, Kyle’s consulting and training expertise in strategic marketing, digital marketing and strategic management has impacted thousands of business owners in Georgia. His background spans academic and corporate environments, training businesses in all areas of how to grow their business. Kyle is also a certified instructor for Google and the Georgia SBDC GrowSmart™ program. He has presented his program, “Be a Web Expert,” nationwide at several conferences and events. He has been recognized for his programs around the state including the Program of Year Award for 2011 for his team contribution in the Google Training and consulting initiative. Kyle was recognized as the 2009 Consultant of the year by The University of Georgia SBDC and the 2010 State Star of Georgia by the Association of Small Business Development Centers. He holds an M.B.A., Georgia Southern University and a B.B.A., Marketing, Georgia Southern University.


FinneyDebbie Finney, Area Director, UGA SBDC in Albany

Debbie Finney 28 years of work experience in the private sector to the SBDC where she now consults with Georgia businesses in the areas of marketing strategies, branding, social media marketing, digital marketing strategies, strategic planning and business management. She has instructed business owners throughout the state on marketing and digital marketing strategy and has presented her program, “Branding – Smart Move for Small Business” nationally. She started her business career in retail family business, and later opened a second retail business. During her many years in retail, she developed a marketing expertise and strategy that distinguished her two businesses in the market place as the local industry expert. Prior to joining the SBDC, Debbie worked in medical practice management where she was instrumental in opening and managing two medical offices in the Greater Atlanta area. She also has experience in hospital based medical practice management and marketing medical practices. Debbie Finney has also been an instructor of Marketing, Labor Relations, and other business classes at Darton State College. She holds an MBA, University of Georgia and a BBA, Emory University.
