Prior to joining SBDC as a Consultant, Hunter worked for Synovus Bank as a Retail Market Leader, Business Banker, and Construction Lender. Following his tenure in banking, Hunter went to work for the Small Business Assistance Corporation, a non-profit lender based in Savannah, GA, briefly as a credit underwriter, quickly moving into a commercial lending role, with a focus on growing the organization’s SBA Community Advantage, USDA, and Capital Fund portfolios. As a function of his finance background, Hunter has accumulated more than 13 years of experience in consultative sales, credit and risk management, financial analysis, and government-guaranteed financing vehicles. Additionally, while at the SBAC, Hunter edited and structured two Certified Development Financial Institution Fund grant requests, which resulted in the award of $2MM, the proceeds of which were used to fund the unguaranteed portions of SBA CA credits.
