Kathy Plisko is the area director of the UGA SBDC at Georgia State University.   She brings a wealth of experience in financial services and process improvement to the organization. She spent 25+ years in the financial services industry, specifically underwriting and analyzing companies and negotiating legal documents for corporate asset-based transactions as an underwriter, underwriting manager, and portfolio manager.   Kathy has extensive experience in analyzing financial trends, running sensitivity analysis on cash flows, mentoring and training junior employees, process improvement, developing underwriting tools, and developing training programs for underwriters and portfolio managers. She also spent 7 years with a large multinational conglomerate as an auditor, process improvement facilitator, underwriter, and portfolio manager within their financial services division. Her experience spans across a broad range of industries including healthcare, transportation and shipping, manufacturing, service, and technology.

Levar Haffoney

Levar has over 10 years of business consulting experience. He specializes in financial analysis, business acquisitions and business financing. Prior to joining the UGA SBDC at Georgia State University, Levar was the managing principal at Vedere Consulting. In that role, he provided outsourced CFO solutions to help business owners optimize their operations and improve cash flow.   Prior to Vedere, he was the Business Services Manager for the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, a community development financial institution. At GJDC, Levar managed their Capital Access Revolving Loan Fund and provided technical assistance to businesses in Southeast Queens.   He has also advised and mentored hundreds of aspiring and active entrepreneurs through his associations with NYC Business Solutions, the Empire State Development Corp., the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation and the Community College of Philadelphia. He was also an adjunct lecturer at the City University of New York, York College.   Levar began his career as a financial advisor and has worked with Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase.

Alicia Johnson

Alicia joined the UGA SBDC at Georgia State University team in February 2020, initially as an administrative assistant, later transitioning into the role of program coordinator.   During her professional career, she has acquired varied skills and been trained and developed in numerous corporate settings, including digital marketing, contract preparation and administration. Her experience spans across industries such as hospitality, chemical distribution and sales. Within the last sixteen years, she has served in roles such as office manager, termite inspector, executive assistant, events manager, contract administrator and client relations manager.   Alicia has a love and passion for the small business community which led her to own and operate multiple businesses. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in business. Her experience as an entrepreneur, along with a strong administrative and customer service background, positions her well to positively impact the business community in the Fulton County area.
