Morgan Robinson Morgan began her time with the UGA SBDC in February 2014 as a Research Assistant. She assisted in gathering data and reports for consultants and stakeholders. Morgan then transitioned as an Accountant position within the SBDC in August 2018. Her current job duties include review of all travel expenses and payment requests for compliance with SBA, UGA and SBDC policies, processing of biweekly payroll, Foundation check requests, and Purchase Orders through UGAmart.

Jessica Hearn

Jessica Hearn joined the UGA Small Business Development Center as the Business Manager in April of 2014, and also serves as the department’s Human Resources Coordinator. She assists with daily business activities involving position and compensation management, UGA Foundation transactions and P-Card purchases.   Before joining the SBDC, she worked for four years in the Human Resources department at Athens Regional Medical Center, assisting employees with their benefits and FMLA requests.

Penny Johnson

Penny Johnson Penny started her journey at UGA in 1993 in Telephone Services, where she worked for six years. She then worked for BB & T Bank as a Bank Teller for four years, before deciding UGA was where she really wanted to be. She came back to UGA to work for the Small Business Development Center in 2003 in the Business Office, where she enjoys working with her SBDC colleagues.

Melissa Stoker

Melissa Stoker joined the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center in Athens in 2012 as a Business Manager and was promoted to Administrative Financial Director in 2018. Melissa started her career at UGA in 1997 in Student Accounts, working her way up through the Budget Division (1998-2004) and the College of Pharmacy (2004-2012). She oversees the daily running of all business functions such as requests for reimbursement, ordering supplies, and payroll. Melissa also ensures that the grant, state and foundation money allotted to the SBDC is spent judiciously.
