Suzanne Barnett

Suzanne Barnett Suzanne Barnett is one of three District Directors for the SBDC. She works with multiple offices throughout the state of Georgia and directs economic development efforts in her territories. Prior to this appointment, she was the Area Director of the UGA SBDC at Valdosta State University, where she was also a faculty member.   Suzanne has served as a board member for the Lowndes/Valdosta Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Lowndes, a local leadership training initiative. In 1999, the Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC) recognized Ms. Barnett as a Star Performer. This national organization awarded the honor to only ten SBDC business consultants throughout the United States that year. The Georgia Economic Developers Association also has honored her for her work in Lowndes County and the State of Georgia.   Suzanne's primary interests lie in marketing research, advertising and social media. She has presented programs for the ASBDC, Southeastern Entrepreneurial Education Conference, National Town Meeting on Main Street, Valdosta State University Women’s Studies Conference, Southwest Texas State SBDC Professional Development Conference, and many regional programs throughout Georgia.

Ruby Riesinger

Ruby Riesinger is a University of Georgia Small Business Development Center District Director. Prior, she had served as Area Director and Business Consultant for the UGA SBDC in DeKalb. Prior, Ruby was the Director of Sales and an on-air personality for Black Crow Media in Valdosta. From 2010-2014, she served as Area Director and Business Consultant in the UGA SBDC at Valdosta State University, where she earned Consultant of the Year in 2013 and Flewellen Awards for 2012 and 2013.   Ruby is the former Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Valdosta and Manager of Continuing Education/Community Marketing Relations for Valdosta Technical College. She has a passion for assisting small business owners survive and thrive in Georgia’s diverse economic climate.
