Joshua Wright graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. He currently serves as the BlackRock Outreach Specialist for the Multicultural Business Division. This role centers around connecting Metro Atlanta communities to UGA SBDC services in the local area, promoting entrepreneurial activity, identifying potential areas for business development, and identifying grants and funding for businesses. Laurent Kahl

Laurent Kahl is an international trade consultant with the UGA Small Business Development Center. He has extensive private sector experience in the international trade field with over four decades working for both private and semi-government entities.   Prior to joining UGA SBDC International Trade Center, Laurent was a self-employed consultant for GlobalFootprints, an import/export consultancy that helped small- and medium-sized businesses navigate and succeed in the global market. Prior to founding GlobalFootprints in 2013, Laurent also worked for a wide range of large multi-nationals enterprises including HELLA in South America; Habasit America in Latin America; International Paper selling in the Middle East, Latin America and Canada; Kaiser Aluminum selling to the Americas; and Hercules International selling to the European Union and the Caribbean Basin.   Laurent has additional international logistics experience working for the Port of Charleston as a Regional Cargo Sales Manager in New York City. As for his Import experience, he created his own importing venture, Filter Supply America, where he represented a major German manufacturer of industrial filters - Mann + Hummel - that were distributed and sold in the U. S. and Canada. Laurent also acted as an Manufacturers Representative for LM Handling SPA., a family owned company based in Modena, Italy that manufactured high quality, custom made, high speed industrial conveyors and accessories.

Lisa Love

As Entrepreneur Outreach Specialist for Southwest Georgia, Lisa Love supports business development efforts in the region’s 40+ counties. She is responsible for identifying consulting, training and resource resources as well as assisting communities in areas of business creation, retention and expansion.   Prior to joining UGA SBDC, Love spent 13 years working in successive roles with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). Most recently, she served as Division Director and Interim Deputy Commissioner of Explore Georgia, the tourism division of GDEcD. Prior to that, she held the position of Director of Music Marketing and Development for GDEcD’s Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office.   Lisa spent five years as executive director of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon, while it was administratively attached to GDEcD, and five years as marketing director while the museum was attached to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. She also oversees the Georgia Music Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting programs of music education, preservation and outreach statewide. As the owner of Perfect Square Music, Lisa works with clients - including The Gretsch Company, a global musical instrument brand based in Pooler, Georgia - on marketing, branding and strategic planning.

Jessica Walden

Jessica Walden serves a dual role with the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development and the UGA Small Business Development Center. This role is dedicated to south and central Georgia to support business and leadership development efforts in the region. She is responsible for identifying consulting, training and research resources as well as assisting communities in areas of leadership development and business creation, retention and expansion.   Prior to joining Fanning, Walden was a Macon-based small business owner who worked in communications and outreach development for regional initiatives like the College Hill Corridor project, Connect2Compete, and 2020 Census. She served as a consultant on communications projects with the Peyton Anderson Foundation, River Edge Behavioral Health, Visit Macon, and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.   Walden is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Georgia and previously served on the Leadership Georgia board of trustees. She is also a graduate of Leadership Macon. Other community involvement includes previously serving on the Twiggs County Development Authority, the Otis Redding Foundation board and the Bragg Jam Festival board. She has been awarded a “40 under 40” designation by Georgia Trend Magazine, a “Five under 40” recognition by Macon Magazine, and a national Modern Healthcare Bronze Impact Award for her work in communications and community outreach.

Howard Dent's work with the UGA SBDC is buoyed by his belief that real success is the success you share. His mission is to use his 25-plus years of experience in banking and finance to help aspiring entrepreneurs start and grow their business and help existing owners take their business to the next level.   Prior to working at the UGA SBDC, Howard held positions at various financial institutions, including Credit Suisse, WF Commercial Capital and Wells Fargo Bank, where he and his team were responsible for raising over $3 billion in capital. Howard was founding Principal and President of a mortgage finance company where he oversaw the accounting, finance, marketing and human resources functions. Prior to that, he started a specialty-finance focused business consultancy.

Allan Adams
