Geoffrey Loften

Business Advisor
DeKalb Office
Geoffrey Loften hails from Crestview, Florida. Through his upbringing by his father, a military veteran and current aircraft maintenance supervisor for the Department of Defense and his mother, a former McDonald’s manager and current social worker for a shelter for battered women and children, Geoffrey is no stranger to hard work and service. His parents instilled in him an appreciation for seeing the best in people and inspiring the best out of his peers.
Geoffrey has demonstrated this commitment to service from his time walking the halls of Crestview High School to his time exploring the beautiful campus of The University of Georgia – Athens (Class of 2015), serving in various leadership roles in the marching band and throughout the campus. His experience and training in servant leadership coupled with his commitment to excellence allowed him to grow in his role as the Program Coordinator for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center in DeKalb and the Office of Minority Business Development. There, Geoffrey developed the philosophy that if you take a genuine interest in meeting the needs of others and are honest with them and respectful of their time, you’ll be able to build fruitful relationships that will be beneficial to all involved.
In September of 2020, Geoffrey took on a new role with the SBDC as a Business Advisor. He is passionate about economic development and how the SBDC helps to impact the economic vitality of the state of Georgia. He relishes each opportunity to share with the business community the vast resources available to them through their local SBDC.
