As Entrepreneur Outreach Specialist for southwest Georgia, Lisa Love supports business development efforts in the region’s 40+ counties. She is responsible for identifying consulting, training and resource resources as well as assisting communities in areas of business creation, retention and expansion.
Prior to joining UGA SBDC, Love spent 13 years working in successive roles with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). Most recently, she served as Division Director and Interim Deputy Commissioner of Explore Georgia, the tourism division of GDEcD. Prior to that, she held the position of Director of Music Marketing and Development for GDEcD’s Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office. She spent five years as executive director of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon, while it was administratively attached to GDEcD, and five years as marketing director while the museum was attached to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Love also oversees the Georgia Music Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting programs of music education, preservation and outreach statewide. As owner of Perfect Square Music, she works with clients including The Gretsch Company, a global musical instrument brand based in Pooler, Georgia, on marketing, branding and strategic planning.
