You will learn how to:

Whether you are a new business (in business 2 years or less), or are still in the planning phase, building a business takes the right tools—and a lot of hard work. SBDC StartSmart will equip you to be successful! 

Developed by a team of business experts from the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center, this program will guide you through the steps of setting your business on the path to long-term success. 

The program is 16 hours of business curriculum, held twice a week for four weeks. The sessions are held entirely online.

  • Evaluate and refine your business idea/concept
  • Improve your knowledge of business concepts
  • Learn to research markets and competition
  • Build an infrastructure to support business processes and decisions
  • Develop a financial forecast to improve success
  • Develop a thorough, practical business plan

Learn virtually from our team of business experts from across the state. Our subject matter experts will guide you through operations, marketing, human resources, management, financial analysis and more.

The $99 program fee covers the following:

    • Module 2: Opportunities and Solutions
    • Module 3: Marketing for Success
    • Module 4: Digital Marketing and Online Strategies
    • Module 5: Navigating Human Resources
    • Module 6: Operations and Managing by the Numbers
    • Module 7: Management with a Plan
    • Module 8: Plan, Run, Review and Revise
  • A 90-day subscription to LivePlan, an online business planning software (a $120 value).
  • Access to financial and business resources.
  • A network of entrepreneurial peers and professionals.
