[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As most people know (or at least we hope), the University of Georgia  Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a statewide provider of management consulting and training for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. As part of a nationwide network of SBDC programs, the UGA SBDC has offices in 17 locations across the state. With graduate business educations and backgrounds in many different fields, our consultants help owners analyze all aspects of their business to identify areas for management improvement and business growth.

Not only does the SBDC enjoy helping educate small business owners and helping their businesses grow, but we also value helping to provide students with “real world” industry-style experience while contributing to UGA’s goal of enhancing both undergraduate and graduate education.

The SBDC has many graduate assistantship and undergraduate internship opportunities.

Other graduate assistants work with our offices and assist the Area Directors and Business Consultants with areas such as presentation creation, sitting in on consulting sessions, research, continuing education development, marketing, and more.

Our graduate assistantships are a part of the Public Service and Outreach’s Graduate Assistantship Program. PSO Graduate Assistantship opportunities are open to those students who are currently or will be enrolled in the Graduate School in a degree seeking status. A graduate student’s course of study and expertise should align with current programs and initiatives of PSO units. Our undergraduate internships are PAID ($14 per hour) and take place over the course of summer break and require 15-20 hours per week. Some of the duties that a summer intern may be asked to assist with:

There could be other duties involved, but as stated previously, we value students and want to provide and enriching educational experience that help set our students up for success after graduation.
